Full butterfly kick with 3 right, 3 left, and 3 dual arm strokes. Can also add a Snorkel to this drill to help train a more stable head position.
The 3/3/3 drill (or 2/2/2) allows more focus on the stroke details and timing. 3/3/3 is generally preferred over 1/1/1 as the swimmer can be more relaxed and use this drill for longer distances. This drill is critical for giving swimmers a rest while they learn proper timing, stroke mechanics, and breathing. Best to breath on 3rd of each set.
